Staff who served in the Hospitals in the East during the Crimean War
Introduction
These pages are about the Angels and Orderlies - the people who served in the hospitals in the East during the Crimean War. I became interested in this subject because two of my ancestors worked at the Civil Hospital, Renkioi - Ann Newman and her future husband Frank Day. This introduction gives a summary of what the Angels and Orderlies pages contain and how to find out more.
Florence Nightingale Nurses
This is a list of British female nursing staff, the "Florence Nightingale Nurses" who served at various hospitals in Turkey during the Crimean War. I compiled the list from an index and partial abstract of the Register of Nurses [1], which is held at the Florence Nightingale Museum.
Staff of the Civil Hospital, Renkioi
This is a list of staff who served at the Civil Hospital at Renkioi, Turkey during the Crimean War. I compiled the list from War Office records at The National Archives, Kew, England [2]. Nurses on this list may also be found in the list of Florence Nightingale Nurses.
