Taking the Foot Family Further Back
The Foot family can be carried back. James Foot married Susannah Foot in Compton Pauncefoot, Somerset in 1826. The marriage was witnessed by George Foot and Isaac Hockey.
James was the son of James and Grace Foot whose family were all baptised in Comtpon Pauncefoot:

The maiden name of Grace is not known.
James was the baseborn son of Sarah Foot, baptised in Compton Pauncefoot on 23 May 1784. It is possible that his father's surname was Amor as this occurs as an alias used by some of his children in later records.
James was buried in Compton Pauncefoot in 1844 aged 61.
Susan/nah was still alive in 1881, living in North Cheriton as a 'pauper kept by the parish.'

Susan/nah Foot was also a Foot by birth.
Susannah was the daughter of William and Susanna Foot (née Whitlock). William was a labourer. Their children were all baptised in Compton Pauncefoot:

William Foot and Susanna Whitlock were married at Compton Pauncefoot in 1799. Susanna can not be traced back further but William was the son of another William Foot and his wife Elizabeth Foot (née Edwards). They married at Compton Pauncefoot in 1756 and William was baptised in September 1767, one of 10 children.
